Klausner Technologies sues Vonage Holdings for patent infringement

Klausner Technologies said in a statement yesterday that they are suing the VoIP market leaders Vonage Holdings. Klausner is claiming that Vonage infringed on their patented technologies and they are seeking damages and royalties worth around $180 million.

The company added that the dispute is related to the patent being infringed by Vonage’s voicemail services.

Klausner recently signed on a deal with AOL letting them use their technologies for a similar service for their customers.

This is not the only problem for Vonage. The company just recently suffered a terrible IPO launch in the stock market and has also been sued by telecom giants Verizon Communications. Vonage’s share price is currently trading at half its original value and market analysts believe that the company faces serious threats from emerging players including cable network operators and internet companies like Skype.
