Microsoft Argo Project: Might even play games!
Seattle Times has reported that the rumored Microsoft’s iPod killer gadget might be more than just a music player. The report claims that the company wants it to be a do-it-all device and it could even take on Sony Playstation Portable and Nintendo DS handheld gaming consoles.
The project is said to be codenamed Argo project and it is already expected to play both music and video files. Another possible capability in this player is said to be the capability to download music and video content wirelessly.
Brier Dudley of The Seattle Times has come out with more of his findings from inside sources. He has said that the device would indeed play games. He added that the company is expected to use the Xbox brand to promote this device around the world.
He said: “What’s being developed is actually a complete line of Xbox-branded digital-media products, including a device that plays media, a software media player and an online media service.”
He further added: “Wi-Fi sounds like a big deal if you’re comparing the player to the wire-bound iPod. But this is more than just another MP3 player. It will also compete with game players from Sony and Nintendo that have long had Wi-Fi and work as media players, Internet terminals and communication devices.”
