YouTube is serving more than 100 million videos a day!

Availability of high-speed connectivity around the world has made it possible for web users to enjoy video content on the internet and YouTube is one of the most prolific destinations for getting a daily dose of quality stuff.

As per statistics, the online video sharing website is now serving more than 100 million videos daily. They are the current market leaders in online video sector with 29 percent of the U.S. multimedia entertainment market.

The videos watched on YouTube account for nearly 60 percent of all videos watched online. However, the sad part is that the service is completely free at the moment and the developers are yet to find a decent source of generating revenues from this service.

They do service advertisements on the website but this is not going to help them much looking at the bandwidth costs of serving so much content on a daily basis.

YouTube has potential competitors in MySpace, Yahoo, MSN, Google and AOL. All of these companies have a section dedicated to hosting online videos.

The company is run by just around 30 professionals and they managed to serve more than 2.5 billion videos last month alone. And as per incoming reports, as many as 65,000 videos are now uploaded daily to YouTube. And this popularity is only growing and the numbers are going to become only more comprehensive.
