BMW dominates Mercedes Benz in Singapore
BMW is already the world’s largest maker of luxury cars and they are now also dominating rivals Mercedes Benz in the Singapore market.
They overtook Mercedes in sales in Singapore last year and are now continuing to show gains in sales.
In fact, during the first six months of this year, BMW sold 47% more cars than in the same period last year. This has helped them consolidate their position as the market leaders in this segment in Singapore.
Last year, BMW sold more cars than Mercedes booking sales of 3,486 units compared to 2,812 for Mercedes. Toyota’s Lexus branded cars were at a distant third position.
Market experts believe that the popularity of BMW 3 Series is the driving factor behind growing sales for the company. This BMW model was in fact voted “World Car of the Year” at the New York International Auto Show.
