British Sky Broadcasting Group going offensive to grow in the broadband market
Satellite TV operator British Sky Broadcasting Group has announced their plans to go aggressive in the broadband market to attain new customers.
The company has in fact earmarking more money than expected to cover the cost of signing up new customers.
They are also talking with Time Warner’s AOL division to acquire the AOL U.K. subsidiary.
BSkyB expects to spend 400 million pounds over the next three years on launching new products and services in the region. And they are targeting to attain profitability by 2010.
In fact, Sky has said that they would be offering free broadband access to any existing customer covered by the BSkyB broadband network. Overall, this can be a very good deal for the end customer in the region and can give nightmares to competing ISPs in the region.
