Buena Vista reveals details on their first Blu-ray titles

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced that they would be releasing their first Blu-ray disc releases beginning in September.

The company also plans to include exclusive original short films shot in high-def on select titles.

Some of the first titles to be made available by the company on this next generation storage format would be family hits ‘Dinosaur’, ‘Eight Below’, ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ and ‘The Great Raid’.

BVHE president Bob Chapek said in a statement on this announcement: “The Blu-ray Disc represents a major technological breakthrough in our industry, and just as DVD revolutionized home entertainment, the Blu-ray Disc promises to deliver a new and unparalleled consumer experience. The possibilities are endless, and we’ve just begun to bridge the future of this exciting new paradigm.”

After these releases in the month of September, Buena Vista would be releasing some more titles in October on the Blu-Ray format. These would include ‘Glory Road,’ ‘Haunted Mansion,’ ‘Gone in 60 Seconds,’ ‘Dark Water’ and ‘The Brothers Grimm.’

The company added that most of these titles would be priced at a suggested list of $34.95.
