Toyota promises to improve concentration on quality
Toyota is one brand, which the consumers associate with high quality and reliability. However, in the recent times, the company has been plagued with problems in their vehicles leading to major recalls of their cars.
The company has now said that they are vowing to step up quality efforts and added that it is very important for to ensure continued growth. Incidentally, Toyota is facing a legal probe into past recall practice.
This year alone has seen them recalling as many as one million vehicles in Japan. And just recently, the company announced another recall of around 400,000 SUVs in the United States.
Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe said in a statement on their plans: “The world-class quality that we’ve built is our lifeline. There will be no growth without an improvement in quality. This is the biggest task that this management team must undertake.â€
He also added that the company has no interest in the much talked about possibility of the GM-Renault-Nissan tie-up. They have some collaborations with GM and they want to continue with them in the coming years.
