AMD to launch true quad core processors next year
Microprocessor giants Intel have confirmed that they would be launching their quad core processors sometime later this year. However, these product’s won’t be true quad-core as the company would be packing together two dual-core on a single processor.
AMD has now responded by saying that they would be launching true quad-core processors by mid-2007. They are claiming that these products would be better than Intel’s quad-core processors as theirs will have four distinct processors on a single die rather than two dual-cores packaged together.
However, AMD is also planning to launch a two dual-core package before the end of the year to prevent a total washout by Intel in this segment of microprocessor market.
Intel has just started their comeback against AMD who were dominating the market since the last couple of quarters. Intel has just launched some exciting products in the market, which are totally outshining AMD processors in tests. And AMD would still take sometime to come out with their latest products.
