Vodafone gain 4.5 million new customers in first quarter of its financial year

Britain based mobile service provider Vodafone has said that they managed to gain 4.5 million new customers during the first quarter of its financial year.

This was pretty impressive when compared to what the market experts had predicted from the company. Vodafone also managed to add on an additional 11.7 million customers through their acquisition of the Telsim, the second-biggest Turkish mobile telephone operator.

The end result is that Vodafone’s subscriber base is now up 13.2 percent to 186.8 million people compared to what it was in the same period last year.

This is good news for the company, which has issued three profit warnings since November 2005. They are now concentrating on investing in growing markets including India and expect to perform well in the future as well.
