Blue Note Records to release ring tones of jazz music
Blue Note Records are the owners of recordings by classic jazz artists such as Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey and Chet Baker and they have now said that they would be launching select cuts from its trove of recordings for use on mobile phones as ring tones.
This is part of the recent plan named “The Best of Blue Tones†announced by Britain’s EMI Music who owns Blue Note Records.
It would also be the first time samples from these great jazz musicians would be made officially available as ring tones on mobile phones.
The recording company has released cuts from 24 jazz tracks. These include cuts from Blakey’s “Dat Dere,” Baker’s “My Funny Valentine,” Monk’s “Straight No Chaser,” and Davis’ “Move.”
They are currently planning to offer these ring tones through major mobile phone carriers in the United States. And this would be further expanded to include other countries around the world in the coming months.
