MTV Flux: Social Networking television style!

MTV Networks is now planning to get into the social networking media circle and they are going to do it to influence programming on their television channel!

The television studio would be launching a TV channel that features user-generated video clips and messages. Users would have the power to choose what would be displayed on the channel. They would also be able to upload their own clips and interact with other viewers using text messages, which would get displayed on the channel.

They would also be able to get an online presence in the form of self-created avatars. This new site from the MTV Networks would be called MTV Flux and it is due to be launched on August 1. The television channel would be launched on September 6.

Angel Gambino, vice president of commercial strategy and digital media for MTV Networks UK & Ireland spoke on this initiative: “MTV is challenging the status quo in TV programming and transferring control directly to its audience.”
