Facebook to give away one million 25-song music samplers on Apple iTunes

Online social networking website Facebook has announced that they would be giving away Ten million 25-song iTunes samplers under a new promotional offer in the United States.

Apple has gone into a deal with Facebook to offer this back-to-school promotion and more than 8.3 million users of the website can benefit from this offer.

The social networking website plans to give away one million 25-song music samplers from iTunes each week for the next ten weeks.

These samplers would contain selected songs from a different genre, ranging from Alternative to Rock, Hip Hop to Dance, and Electronica.

Owen Van Natta, chief operating officer at Facebook spoke on this new deal: “iTunes is the most popular digital music service in the world and we are excited to offer this exclusive giveaway. We’re always striving to provide people with the things they care most about, and with over half a million bands listed on Facebook we know that listening to and downloading music is an integral part of our users’ lives.”

Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes added: “We’re thrilled to work with Facebook on this great promotion. This is a tremendous opportunity for people to legally discover and enjoy music on the iTunes Music Store through their favorite social directory.”
