Intel and Micron Technology to launch more powerful flash memory chips in the market

Samsung might be the leading suppliers of flash memory chips in the market but Intel is not giving hope. They are working with Micron Technology and are going to develop a new, more powerful flash memory chip.

These new chips would offer greater capacity for mobile devices and other consumer electronics, which uses flash memory for storage.

Intel and Micron would be basing these new products on the industry’s first 50-nanometer NAND flash memory chips and they plan to offer 4Gb of memory on these chips.

The two companies would be launching these new products under IM Flash Technology company which is a joint venture between them and they are aiming to mass-produce these chips by the end of next year.

IM Flash said in a statement that they are currently testing the 4 gigabits chips in their plant and they would have more variety available for sale when they launch these products in the retail market.
