AOL co-founder Steve Case apologies for merger with Time Warner
As per incoming information, AOL co-founder Steve Case has somewhat admitted publicly that he is sorry for being one of the guys behind their disastrous combination with Time Warner Inc.
He was quoted as saying on PBS’s “The Charlie Rose Show”: “Yes, I’m sorry I did it.â€
However, he added that the idea of merging with Time Warner sounded like a very good time at that time.
Case said: “It has been a disappointment, but you know, it goes back to the question, `Was it a good idea?’. I think it was a good idea. I’m disappointed and frustrated that it hasn’t developed in the way that that we all hoped at the time it could.”
AOL merged with Time Warner in 2000 at the height of the internet bubble. A lot has changed since then and that includes Time Warner changing its name from AOL Time Warner Inc. to just Time Warner Inc.
