Apple Computers is now a member of Khronos Group

Apple Computer has now become a member of the Khronos Group. This group is a band of technology corporations focused on defining open standards for the authoring and acceleration of dynamic media on platforms including the mobile phones.

Some other members of this platform are Acrodea, DAZ3D, Dell, Google, Gremedy, Codeplay, and S3 Graphics.

These companies work together to define open standards for the authoring and acceleration of dynamic media on these platforms.

This just might be the latest hint from the company that they are indeed developing a mobile phone product based on the iPod technology that could potentially take on Nokia and Sony digital media enabled phones.

Khronos Group also added that OpenGL Architecture Review Board has elected to turn over control of the OpenGL standard to Khronos.
