Apple phasing out AppleCentre retail outlet brand name

As per incoming information, Apple Computers has started working on phasing out the AppleCentre retail outlet brand name.

They would now ask the partners to reapply for their certifications. These partners have until 31 January 2007 to develop their own branding and remove all references to AppleCentre.

This was confirmed in a statement by the Apple Australia marketing director Rob Small.

This trend started to appear in Europe where the company has started to promote its new ‘Apple Premium Partner’ certification.

Small added: “The AppleCentre brand is owned by Apple, not independently owned retail outlets.”
