NASA advances launch date for next Shuttle mission
US Space Agency NASA has announced that they are advancing the scheduled launch date of the next Space Shuttle mission.
They have now moved up the launch window for shuttle Atlantis by one day.
The mission managers have decided that they will have enough light to get good pictures of Atlantis and its external tank if the launch takes place on Aug. 27 instead of Aug. 28. They have been considering this decision since quite sometime.
With this, the launch window for the upcoming space shuttle program runs from Aug. 27 through Sept. 13. However, NASA and the Russians have said that the shuttle won’t probably be launched after Sept. 7 to avoid a potential conflict with another visiting spacecraft.
