Canon HV10: After Sony, Canon launches high definition Camcorders
Canon has launched a digital video camera for home users, which is capable of recording video in high definition format.
This would take on similar product launches from rivals Sony which is also the developer of the Blu-Ray format for storing HD videos.
The world’s largest maker of digital cameras Canon said in a statement that their HV10 is their high-definition video model for home use and it would be available in the retail markets from September this year.
They plan to sell it at around 150,000 yen in the Japanese market.
Canon is aiming to capture around 20 percent share of the Japanese market for home-use digital video cameras this autumn. This new product from the company would be fitted with its CMOS imaging sensor.
