Google, Real and Mozilla in collaboration to promote each other’s products
Search engine giant Google has extended its collaboration with RealNetworks Inc. This deal would see Real promoting Google applications through the downloads of their products.
The two companies would also work with Mozilla Corporation and they both have agreed to distribute Mozilla Firefox browser together with the Google Toolbar along with Real’s RealPlayer audio and video playback software.
This combination looks like a deal aimed at challenging the domination of Microsoft products like Internet Explorer and online services. With Windows Vista coming soon, Real, Google and Mozilla needs more similar kind of deals to promote non-Microsoft products and services.
This deal extends on an existing two-year distribution pact between Google and RealNetworks. And this comes just weeks after they signed on deals with Dell and Adobe to promote their applications.
