Sony launches NW-E Series of Walkman players
Consumer electronics maker Sony has launched a series of new digital music players under the NW-E Series.
These are basically entry-level mp3 players and range from capacities of 512 Megs to two gigs.
These players are primarily targeted at the Apple iPod nano range of digital music players and come with an FM tuner as well.
Sony believe that these players available in a variety of colors and featuring long battery life, a built-in USB connector, and an FM-radio tuner would attract away the consumers from Apple iPod nano which lacks the capability of the radio tuner.
Sony would be selling these players in colors like pink, lime green, blue, violet, silver, and black. These would be priced between USD 70 and USD 130. Sony claims that these players would provide 28 hours of listening at full battery capacity. Users would also benefit from the quick-charge function that provides up to three hours of playback for only three minutes of charging.
Sony Electronics’ Mitch Li said in a statement on these new product launches: “The new Walkman player is a great choice for people getting introduced to digital music. By offering the player in an assortment of bright, vibrant colors, you can personalize your music experience.”
