Market analysts: Ford’s new car lineup is not exciting

Ford Motor Co. specializes in making gas-guzzling trucks but market experts claim that they need to make some new exciting cars to help turn around the company’s fortunes.

They further said that the company is struggling to compete with their rivals in the US market when it comes to developing new models to bring in more customers.

This came after Japanese automaker Toyota dethroned Ford as the second largest auto retailer in the US market after General Motors.

Ford also just recently announced their decision to appoint former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. investment banker Kenneth H.M. Leet to serve as strategic advisor. Ford might now consider selling loss making auto groups including the makers of luxury cars Jaguar.

The company is also considering accelerating a restructuring plan that calls for cutting 30,000 jobs and closing 14 factories in North America by 2012.
