Gartner reports PDA shipments growing
Research group Gartner has said in a report that the number of worldwide shipments of handheld computers rose by 2.7 percent in the second quarter.
Impressively, it is the smaller vendors, which are resulting in this growth. Gartner reported that sales of PDAs for the quarter totaled 3.7 million units, a 2.7 percent increase from the same period a year ago.
Research in Motion continues to lead the sales chart with a 22.5 percent market share. Palm was second with 12.7% market share. HP came third with 10.4% market share.
Some of the smaller players improving upon the sales were Mio Technology, Motorola and Danger Research.
