Internet Explorer Notepad bug

Found another of these stupid Internet Explorer bugs… Related to IE5 onwards with the default setting of notepad as the source code viewer. Just make a new folder on the desktop named Notepad. Now try viewing the source code of any webpage in Internet Explorer.
Gosh, the folder on the desktop opens instead of the source of the webpage! This is Internet Explorer for you mate! :D

Ha ha ha….
The lamest browser ever seen. Such stupidity!
More importantly, think of the possible exploits if the folder had active content (.htt) that executed itself upon opening?
Internet Explorer’s days of glory are over folks.

Put the following text between -’s in a .reg file and import it to regedit, and IE will work correctly
————————————————
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\notepad.exe]
@=”c:\\windows\\notepad.exe”
