Germany: More mobiles, fewer people!
This world has become a fascinating place. Cheap access to technology has resulted in interesting statistics, which baffles even the smartest statisticians out there.
Germany for example now has more mobile phone accounts than the people living in the country! This means that everyone in the country would have a mobile phone and some of them would have more than one!
The German telecom industry federation Bitkom said in a statement that the country now has a total of 82.8 million mobile phone accounts compared with a population of about 82 million.
They explained this phenomenon on the simple fact that more people are now taking advantage of favorable price trends to acquire a second mobile phone.
