Would you move on to GBrowser just b’coz it is from Google?
Almost everyone around here knows the craze Firefox has spread around. So much so that the counter for downloads for the software made headlines around the world in the user Blogs. And well, it does not end here. While the love for Firefox is very much understandable considering it is very capable software, there is another big news, which is actually making me going nutso with the kind of craze it is spreading. Google hired some big guns from Sun and Microsoft, got control of the domain name gbrowser.com. And we already have this huge speculation in media over something called Google Browser. People are already ready to leave their existing software to permanently move on to GBrowser. They are discussing what it can and should have, what rendering engine it should use. I even found a guy who said, since the Google brand name is attached with it, there is nothing that can stop it from taking over Internet Explorer.
Oh, come on people. Google’s homepage does not have a Document Declaration. How do you think they can develop a standard compliant browser of the quality of Firefox or Opera just like that? The best option with them would be to create a wrap around browser, which would definitely be not very cool. And people already are ready to be a devotee to GBrowser.
Please, give me a break. :)
