Apple iTunes almost confirmed to allow movie downloads in the near future
The CEO of Canadian movie studio Lions Gate Entertainment, Jon Feltheimer has somewhat confirmed that Apple Computers is indeed due to start offering movies on download on their Apple iTunes service.
He spoke with market analysts during the company’s financial earnings conference call: “We also have digital delivery deals in place with Cinema Now, MovieLink, and iTunes, with upcoming announcements with at least two more major industry players.â€
In a way, he confirmed that the studio has reached a deal with Apple to allow movie downloads on Apple iTunes. This means that Apple is closing in on offering this new service on their digital music and video store.
Lions Gate Entertainment president Steve Beeks added: “In terms of iTunes movie downloads, I think most likely some time before the end of the year. We know when they are planning on launching, but since they have not announced it publicly, I do not think it is our place to say anything more about that.”
