CBS experimenting more with the Internet. To put Evening News online.

TV network CBS has confirmed that they now plan to stream its prime-time news program with Katie Couric live on the Internet.

The show would be telecasted on the internet simultaneously with the newscast.

This would become the first such telecast of its type in the US market and shows how fast the television networks are adopting the internet.

This new experiment is scheduled to start from September 5 when Couric first sits in the “CBS Evening News” anchor chair.

Sean McManus, president of CBS News and Sports talked about this new innovative initiative: “It’s another giant step toward providing CBS News content to people wherever they are — in their homes, in their offices, in their cars, on their computers or on their cell phones.”
