Ford to introduce fuel-efficient engines for their trucks
US based automaker Ford has said that they would soon unveil a new series of large F-Series pickup trucks powered by an optional new clean-burning diesel engine.
The company is struggling to compete against Japanese automakers who are popular for their reliable and fuel efficient cars.
Ford said that their new 6.4-liter diesel engine will be larger than the current 6-liter engine and will produce more horsepower. However, these would offer better fuel economy and be quieter than its predecessor.
In addition, these new engines would also comply with new federal regulations for diesel engines.
Ford is using high-precision fuel injectors and a particulate filter similar to a small incinerator for these new engines to reduce the pollution levels.
