Google’s market share drops a bit as Yahoo! gains
Search engine giant Google has ended their 11-month run of market share gains. The month of July, say Google losing their market share in the search engine market by around a percent to 43.7 percent.
This was revealed in a report by market analytic company ComScore Networks.
Yahoo! continues to be the second most used search engine and they gained a minor market share to reach 28.8 percent.
Microsoft’s MSN Search engine came third with a market share of 12.8 percent. Time Warner’s AOL division was forth with 5.9 percent market share. Ask.com was next with 5.4 percent market share.
Google also continues to dominate the searches originating from search toolbars. It had a market share of 50.3 percent compared to 46.2 percent for Yahoo! Maybe it is time MSN develops an official toolbar for the Mozilla Firefox browser. But who would use that? That is an interesting question.
