YouTube.com adds video brand advertising for revenue generation
One of the most asked questions about the YouTube.com service is related to revenue generation. The web service is the leader in its segment and even dominates the Google’s own video sharing service. However, they do not have a reliable source of revenue generation.
The company has now started offering video brand advertising on its site, which might help them cope up with the bills.
YouTube.com said that these new ads would compliment the existing text and small graphical online advertising.
As per available statistics, YouTube.com broadcasts as many as 100 million videos online everyday and their bandwidth bills alone are said to be worth around a million dollars a month.
The company has collaborated with Warner Music Group and has already started promoting Paris Hilton’s debut album on the site. This album is being supported with online advertisement by Fox Broadcasting Co.’s ‘Prison Break’.
Interestingly, Fox happens to be a unit of News Corp., which owns MySpace.com, which in fact is a competitor of YouTube.com.
