Naza Automotive Manufacturing to setup a base in India

Malaysia based Naza Automotive Manufacturing has said in a statement that they would be establishing a 950 million ringgit assembly plant in the Indian market.

This would mark the company’s entry into the lucrative South Asian auto market. They already imports and assembles vehicles for South Korea’s KIA Motors Corp. and as per latest information, they would soon signup a memorandum of understanding with the state government of Tamil Nadu next month.

Naza is aiming to build a factory in the Sriperumbudur business hub in Chennai. The company plans to sell Naza and Kia vehicles in India as well as export them to neighboring markets including Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Interestingly, the company also is in an agreement with Peugeot SA and they assemble the Peugeot 206 model for sale in Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Maybe, we would see these cars in the Indian market in the coming years.
