AOL to sell movies and television shows online
Time Warner’s internet division AOL is going to do what the market has been expecting Apple Computers to do since sometime now.
AOL has confirmed that they plan to sell movies and television shows on their website. The company has gone into collaboration with major Hollywood studios.
This deal is the latest in a series of announcements made by the company to present itself as an online content provider as AOL aims to increase their revenues from online advertising.
AOL has gone into collaboration with 20th Century Fox, Sony Corp, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, NBC Universal’s Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros.
AOL said that users would be able to download selected titles from those studios for $9.99 to $19.99 each.
