NASA’s next space vehicle would be called Orion

US Space Agency NASA has confirmed that they would be naming their new manned exploration craft Orion.

This vehicle is been developed to take human space explorers back to the Moon. The longer-term goal is to set the foot on the Mars.

However, the first possible flight of this under development craft can only take place as early as 2014 and a possible mission to Moon would take another couple of years.

NASA project manager Skip Hatfield said on this announcement: “One of the things we get into at Nasa is we run around and call things by technical names and acronyms. This allows us to have an identity that we can use.”
