Japan tells Apple to investigate the laptop fire issue

The Japanese government has instructed Apple Computer to investigate the issue of recently reported Apple Laptop catching fire.

They have told the company to investigate the trouble related to the faulty Sony batteries and give them back a report within a week’s time.

Apple spokeswoman Michiko Matsumoto confirmed that the news of an iBook G4 computer catching fire is true and the user suffered minor burns during the incident.

The company has already announced a massive 1.8 million iBook G4 and PowerBook G4 batteries recall. This came after Dell announced a similar 4.1 million faulty laptop batteries recall.

Apple has also received nine reports in the United States of the lithium-ion batteries battery packs overheating.
