AOL launches a revamped digital music store

AOL has been one of the most active players in the web services market. The company had recently announced their decision to increase their reliance on online advertisement revenues and this has resulted in tons of new launches for web users.

The company has now launched a Web-based store and subscription service, which would allow audio and video streaming. In addition, users would be able to transfer the downloaded material on their portable digital players.

The service is now online and has more than 2.5 million songs and videos.

Amit Shafrir, president of AOL Music Now said in a statement on this new service: “It’s available to anyone to come to the service and search for songs. We have a huge online presence and won’t have to spend tens of millions of dollars in marketing to attract users.”
