Toyota might delay vehicle launches to avoid quality problems

Japanese automaker Toyota has always been associated with quality and reliability. However, recent months have seen the company launching a couple of recalls for vehicles, which in the end failed to meet the quality levels of the company.

As per incoming information, the company might delay the launch of some of its upcoming vehicles to keep a tight control on their quality.

Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe was cited as saying in the media: “I have given an order to pay more attention on safety issues, but we as a company are not stalling. We always work flexibly on each model though.”

The report claimed that Toyota is now adding as much as three to six months to development lead time. This could affect the launch of its upcoming products including Sienna minivan, Solara sports coupe and Avalon sedan.
