Bob Dylan in an Apple Computer online advertisement
U2 has done it and now Apple Computer has an online advertisement featuring the legend Bob Dylan. Bob is now starring in a spot for Apple’s iPod that cross-promotes his new album, ‘Modern Times’.
This is Bob’s first album in as many as five years.
The ad has been developed by TBWA\Chiat\Day and has Bob performing the single ‘Someday Baby’. It has all the usual elements of a typical Apple ad and looks fantastic.
Bob’s latest album is also being promoted on the Apple iTunes digital music store. Interested users can go on and buy this latest album from the store.
Bob Dylan also has other products available online on Apple iTunes. The deal with Apple also includes a Bob Dylan digital box set, called ‘The Collection’. It features all of Dylan’s albums — almost 800 tracks in total — and can be downloaded in the US for $199.
Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO had spoken about this deal a couple of days ago: “Bob Dylan is one of the most respected poets and musicians of our time, and he is a personal hero of mine. Being able to offer his new album and the exclusive box set of his works on iTunes is a real thrill for us.”
