Qualcomm gets respite from Broadcom lawsuit
Qualcomm Inc. has said in a statement that a U.S. district court has dismissed an antitrust suit filed by microchip maker Broadcom Corp.
Broadcom has on their part said that they would continue to pursue their lawsuit against the company, which dominates the mobile technology market with their technologies.
Broadcom has alleged in their lawsuit that Qualcomm violated antitrust laws by charging too much for licenses for patents based on wireless technology for cell phones.
Judge Mary Cooper of the U.S. district court in New Jersey said in her judgment that Qualcomm “has not refused to license its patents to Broadcom. Broadcom has refused the licensing terms proposed by Qualcomm.”
