SanDisk launches c200 series of digital music players

SanDisk continues to remain in an offensive mood as they have now launched their new series of digital music players under the c200 series.

These new MP3 players are available in 1GB (c240) and 2GB (c250) capacities. The prices range between $79.99 and $99.99.

SanDisk would make available these players in the retail market starting October this year just in time to cash in on the upcoming holiday season.

Impressively, these players would come with a microSD card slot for up to 2GB worth of expandable storage. In addition, they come with a 1.4-inch LCD screen, an FM tuner, a voice recorder, and a user-replaceable rechargeable battery rated for up to 15 hours of playback.

SanDisk c200 series would support MP3, WMA, protected WMA (PlaysForSure compatible), and Audible audio books, as well as JPEG photos.

This is definetly a good product compared with all other products in this range. This has all the features of Sansa E200 series except the video. Anyway no one will expect video in that small size. Those who dont want video can go for Sansa C200. Really a great product from Sandisk. Price is very good. It will be good if they release 4GB C200 product arount $140 as only $20 is the cost for 1GB.

The (pdf) User Manual is not that great. I’ve connected my newly purchased c240 on 4 PCs, the last being my own when I arrived home from holiday. Only the 2nd PC recognised the device enabling use. The other 3 PCs (all XP & meeting other minimum requirements) show “Sandisk c240″ as a portable device, on investigation, in Device Manager>Windows Portable Devices, but never shows as one in Windows Explorer.

Any other device – like memory sticks (2) & digital cameras (2) show in the normal plug & play style.

The Sandisk website gives you nothing to help – other than an international phone call to one of their numbers.

    Hopeless!
