Sun Microsystems and Unisys sues Hynix Semiconductor
Sun Microsystems Inc. and Unisys Corp. have together filed a lawsuit against the South Korea tech company Hynix Semiconductor.
The two companies are seeking damages related to a federal probe into price-fixing of memory chips. The news was confirmed by Hynix in a statement released to the media.
The lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
They are now seeking an out of court settlement over this issue. Not many details have been revealed on how much money the two companies are asking in their lawsuit.
Hynix was one of the four memory chipmakers, which pleaded guilty to felony DRAM price-fixing charges. Other three were Samsung Electronics Co., Infineon Technologies AG and Elpida Memory Inc.
