Honda still working on bringing a small car to India
Japanese automaker Honda said that they are still working on their plans to launch a small/compact car in the Indian market.
The Indian car market is dominated by small cars generally made by Maruti. Hyundai and Tata Motors also have managed to get good numbers through the sales of their compact cars.
Honda currently has City as their cheapest model and it still is practically out of reach for most of the potential first time car buyers in the country.
A possible competitor to Maruti Swift or Hyundai Getz could generate good sales for the company.
Honda Siel India president and CEO M Takedagawa confirmed that the company is indeed serious on these plans: “We are looking at a small car for introducing in the Indian market.â€
