Amazon rumored to be considering launching a video/movie download store

Apple Computer is the market leader when it comes to selling digital music on the internet. They are rumored to be closing in on launching a movie download service.

And they are not the only one, which the market analysts believe are working on such a service. Amazon.com is also said to be developing their own web store to catch in on this growing phenomena.

These two companies might launch their own services within days of each other if we are to believe media sources. An Amazon spokesperson mentioned in a statement: “We’ve made no secret that we are interested in video and music downloads.” However, no other detail was revealed by the company.

They might end up having more deals with the movie studios in the country in the initial days as Apple is said to be considering offering only Disney movies in the initial stages. However, knowing Apple, Amazon.com is in for a hard time if they both enter the market at around the same time.
