Nokia phones would now have names instead of numbers
The number system used by mobile phone giants Nokia often has me in confusion. I have owned a couple of Nokia phones in the recent years. Most of them cheap models including the 2100, 2255, 2600, 6030, 6060 and the Nokia 3105.
However, it is harder to recognize a phone if you have not owned it for a couple of months. In comparison, even a kid can tell if a person is carrying the popular Moto Razr or Moto Slvr mobile phone.
This has resulted in Nokia announcing their plans to now name their handsets instead of giving them a model number. LG is another company, which is having some success with logically named mobile handsets especially the Chocolate mobile phone.
Apple has their iPods with simple nomenclature while Sony tends to chose complicated names for their digital music players. Maybe, it’s a tech gadget thingy. Having a simple name helps the consumer choose your product!
