News Corp promoting The Simpsons through MySpace.com
News Corp has said in a statement that they would be using the services of MySpace.com online social networking portal to promote the latest season of the animated series The Simpsons.
In fact, News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media division has three portals MySpace, Fox.com and IGN TV that are being used to showcase the first seven minutes of the episode that launches the 18th season of the popular television series.
The entire marketing campaign is being sponsored by fast-food chain Burger King.
Ross Levinsohn, president of Fox Interactive Media spoke on this new marketing initiative: “We are seeing an increasing demand for video content across FIM sites, and we are focused on delivering that content in a variety of ways — blending established media and user-generated content in a meaningful way.â€
The show premieres on television tomorrow.
