Nokia collaborates with China Mobile and PTAC

World’s largest maker of mobile phones Nokia has signed on two major deals, which would help them expand their presence in the Chinese market.

The company has signed two contracts worth over two billion euros with China Mobile and PTAC.

Nokia’s deal with China Mobile involves purchases of infrastructure for a GSM/GPRS network. This deal is worth around 580 million euros.

They signed on another deal with Chinese national mobile phone distributor PTAC. This collaboration is for mobile phone products and is worth around 1.5 billion euros.

Nokia said in a statement on this new development: “The agreements show Nokia’s continued commitment to the Chinese market. To date Nokia has committed over 3.3 billion euros to investments in China, and continues to invest in manufacturing, sales and research and development in the Chinese market.”
