Apple targeting the home entertainment market with iTV

Apple Computer has now announced their decision to target the digital home entertainment market with the launch of a television set-top box named iTV.

This comes with the launch of a movie download service from the company that expands the services provided by Apple iTunes digital store.

Apple would be launching this iTV product in the market in the first quarter of next year and it would feature HDMI, traditional three-plug composite and optical cable video outputs.

Users would be able to connect it to a computer via Ethernet or wirelessly through Wi-Fi.

Market analysts said that this has proven that the company now wants to be part of every room in your house though delivering high-resolution video through a wireless connection remains a daunting task.
