BitTorrent to launch a movie download site for foreign digital media
Technology Company BitTorrent has said in a statement that they would soon launch an online movie store to sell foreign films and other digital media.
The company aims to make available content from foreign countries like China, Japan and India. They are not aiming to take on movie download services like Amazon Unbox or Apple iTunes. Instead, they would focus on content not available on sale on popular digital media download services.
Ashwin Navin, president and a co-founder of BitTorrent said in a statement on these plans: “We needed a niche, so we plan to offer content no one else is using.â€
The service would open in the next couple of months in the USA. Further plans are to expand the focus of this service to European countries like Britain by next year.
