Toshiba to launch second-generation HD DVD players in USA
Japanese tech company Toshiba has announced that they would be bringing the second generation of their HD DVD players in the US market soon.
They had launched the first HD DVD players earlier this year and are competing with Sony who has developed their own Blu-Ray format.
The two formats are incompatible and hence both are struggling to attract many customers as even the media companies are split between the two formats to release their new content.
Toshiba said that the HD-A2 player will be available from October for $500 and the HD-XA2 will go on sale in December for $1000.
These latest prices mean that the players are still not getting any cheaper for the end customer.
