iPod sales does not necessary convert into sales on iTunes
A Jupiter Research report has confirmed that not all sales of the popular Apple iPod turn into sales of songs on the Apple iTunes store.
Apple iTunes might be a hugely successful online store but it continues to fail to attract the attention of all the iPod owners who tend to use songs ripped off from CDs and downloaded from the internet.
The researchers found out that on an average only 20 of the tracks on an iPod will be from the iTunes shop. As many as 83% of iPod owners do not buy digital music regularly. Only a minority of them are regular purchasers of songs from the Apple iTunes store.
Of course, we in India have no way to purchase songs from Apple iTunes, as the company has yet not launched a store in India.
