Sony Ericsson to launch M-BUZZ digital music service

Apple might be the leaders in the digital music sales market but Sony Ericsson is not sitting idle. The company plans to soon come out with their digital music service, which they have now named M-BUZZ.

It would be aimed at the users of Sony Ericsson mobile phones and users would be allowed full music downloads. The company plans to focus on new and up-and-coming artists initially.

The M-Buzz service would be an enhanced version of their PlayNow service and the Internet. Sony Ericsson said in a statement on this new development: “The first phones offering M-BUZZ will be the W850 and W950 Walkman phones announced earlier this year and scheduled to ship in European, Asian and Latin American markets during the second half of 2006.”

Nokia is the world’s largest seller of mobile phones and they made news when they acquired U.S.-based digital music distributor Loudeye Corp. for $60 million.
